Hobbs Housing Market a Beneficiary of the Growing Hobbs’ Business Community

Hobbs’ record-setting homebuilding is nearly as vibrant as the area’s oil and gas industry growth. As more production companies choose Hobbs, workers are seeking their own opportunity for a home in Hobbs.

Expansion continues with various multifamily and single-family developments underway. The City of Hobbs provides incentives to encourage development and opportunity for growth.

The Lea County’s most prominent residential developers have successfully completed construction in their prior phases and are actively engaged in the creation and expansion of new subdivisions, catering to the community’s demand for custom homes. Stuard Homes is currently developing Trinity Estates in north Hobbs. Fifty-six homes have been built and sold in Unit 1, and all but six of the 58 homes in Unit 2 have been sold. Stuard will be completing Unit 3 this year (54 homes), and are currently planning Unit 4 and Unit 5. The median price for homes in Trinity Estates is $377,000. Lemke Homes completed The Meadows subdivision with 119 houses in 2021, and subsequently developed The Meadowlands, which featured 106 homes ranging from 1,300 to 2,100 square feet. Lemke Homes is currently developing its newest subdivision on the corner of college Lane and Grimes Street, College Square, which will have 50 homes. Lemke  Homes has plans for developing approximately 25 duplex housing units adjacent to The Meadows subdivision, which will complete, Lemke plans on turning its attention to developing a new subdivision in central Hobbs. Corrales Construction is a new housing developer in Hobbs, and is currently completing the remaining 19 lots in the Zia Crossing subdivision.
